“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in everything that you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT)

Have you been praying for God to speak to you, but all you hear is silence? Have you been asking Him to move in your life, but more doors seem to be slamming shut than swinging open?

Jesus never said this life would be easy and at some point, we all go through seasons where the dots do not seem to be connecting or lining up.

However, during these times, the Lord of the universe says to trust in Him with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding! Seek His will in everything that you do, and He will show you which path to take.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Most of us have probably read and heard this verse numerous times throughout our walk. Some of us even have it memorized and hung on our fridge…but just because we read it does not mean we live it. Just because we hear it does not mean we understand it.

Sometimes we think we know more than God and try to handle things on our own. We allow Him to work in some areas, but we have “keep out” tape on others. We say we want His will, yet we never surrender to it. We say we trust Him, yet we still try to be in control.

We need to give up our ideas and opinions and ask God for his solutions. We need to release our grip on the things we are holding so tightly and trust that they will fall into the hands of our loving Father.

We need to pursue His wisdom, His knowledge, and His discernment by studying his word and resting in prayer. We need to know how much He truly loves us and that He only wants the best for us. In order for us to gain more trust in the Lord, we need to spend more time getting to know Him.

“Joyful is the person who finds wisdom.

By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the sky.

My child, do not lose sight of common sense and discernment…for they will refresh your soul. They will keep you safe on your way and you can go to sleep without fear.” (Proverbs 3:21,22,24 NLT)

God hears your prayers. Sometimes His answer is no. Sometimes His answer is yes. Sometimes His answer is wait. Faith means believing before seeing. Surrender every area of your life to Him, giving Him complete control. Take a deep breath and relax. Continue asking, keep seeking, read His word, and let Him conform your thoughts to His. Then rest in His peace and assurance that He is speaking and He is opening doors. But the first door He needs opened is the one you have the key to. Give Him the key to your heart and your life and watch how powerful our God is!

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for not trusting you the way I should, but help my unbelief. Conform my thoughts to yours and my ways to your ways. I surrender every area of my life to you right now and fully trust that you are doing something amazing right before my eyes. I thank you in advance for the doors you are opening and the breakthrough upon my life right now! I pray all this in Jesus name, amen.
