Psalm 17:6

Written by Jeremy Kessler and Family

"I call on You, O God, for You will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer." Psalm 17:6

David is chosen by God to rule over many people, to lead them to know God's will and love. During this time, he has many tests and hardships and he has only God to turn to. So throughout most of his story and writing, he is speaking directly to God.

"Call" as in he's speaking to Him; "will" because he knows God will answer him, he believes so much that God is there listening and giving His answer, that His will is being done; "give" because God is loving and charitable; and "ear to me and hear" because God not only hears our prayers, but has His ear on us in our hearts and minds always. God is always with us and within us.

We believed absolutely that He was with us, listening to our prayers, our heart, and mind so as to answer any doubts we could've had.

Knowing that God was and is with us through hardships, and that His will is what is best for us to grow, also gives us the knowledge and some understanding to share God's unquestionable love with others. We have a hope that it is God's plan that our testimony be shared with others so they may know us as an example of God's absolute and eternal love, and that He knows what is best.

We very much encourage others to pray for themselves and our church family, too— pray to be a disciple of God and our Savior Jesus Christ, because as great a feeling as it is knowing God, it is even greater to share that love with others, to help others, encourage others. And all of this is the duty and pride of a believer.  As a family of believers at SCC, we take this duty to heart, to hold each other accountable, and to love our community so that the Word can be shared with the world.

Lord, I pray for the honor of being a disciple. I pray to be a part of Your family in my church family, to use all that You gift us with to share Your love, to share everything we take for granted with those we come across. I pray…
