Small groups are committed to creating a conversational environment where people can explore faith, build friendships & have fun as we be pursue our mission to love God, love one another & serve the world. Small groups provide a network of support & care that helps us faithfully follow Jesus as we point our family, friends, neighbors & co-workers to Jesus.

When do small groups meet?
Many of our small groups meet for a semester: fall (September-November), spring (February-April) or summer (June-July). Other small groups meet throughout the school year (September-April).
When can I sign up for a small group?
Sign-up months are typically January, May & August.
Who can be a part of small groups?
Small groups are made up of people in all different seasons of life. They range in size from 12-20 people, meeting together weekly or bi-weekly to challenge, equip & prayerfully encourage one another. You can check out the group descriptions below to learn the specific purpose or focus of each small group.
Fall Small Groups
GriefShare: Everyone experiences difficulties at some point. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through those difficult times. You do not have to go through it alone.
This group is led by Patrick & Tanisa Bixler at SCC on Mondays @ 6:30pm.
Organized Chaos: A Group for Moms: Join us for a night where moms get the chance to connect & support one another. Our vision is to grow together as parents & to be the solid voices that each of us needs speaking into our lives every week. No matter where you are in your walk with Jesus, we’d love to have you be a part of our organized chaos!
This group is led by Ashley Adams & Amanda Catt at SCC on Tuesdays @ 6:30pm during ROOTS.
18-25 Group: If you're a recent high school graduate, up to age 25(ish), then this group is for you! You never know quite what to expect, but you do know that it'll be good!
This group is led by Jason & Jill Chenoweth at the Piersalls’ house (222 E. 425 North | Shelbyville, IN) on Tuesdays @ 7:00pm.
ROOTS: ROOTS is a program designed for K-5th graders to help them grow deeper in their faith. Currently we use theAction Bible curriculum, going straight through scripture.ROOTS starts back on September 4th on Tuesday evenings here at SCC from 6:30-8:00PM.
The Landing Zone: If you’re a teen (or know of a teen) who is struggling with life’s hurts, habit & hang-ups, then we’d love to have you come to the Landing Zone. We’re a community of people who offer a safe place to find hope, healing & freedom from troubles with drugs or alcohol.
This group is led by several co-leaders at 14 W. Broadway here in Shelbyville on Tuesdays @ 6:30pm. You can call 317-699-1852 with any questions.
The Middle: We have a team of adults & high school students who think that middle school kids are the coolest kids on earth! Our team loves to spend time with middle schoolers, laugh, create new adventures & point them to Jesus every chance we can. We invite all students in 6th, 7th & 8th grade to hang out with us at The Middle here at SCC on Wednesdays @ 6:30pm OR for 6, 7, 8 @ 11 on Sunday mornings here at SCC during our 11:00am service.
Higher Ground: Come join us for an uplifting time of worship & learning! We’ll start by singing a few hymns, and then we are going book by book through the Bible. We’re not following any particular order, just following where the Spirit leads. Come join us!
This group is led by Ian Farnsley at SCC on Thursdays @ 6:00pm.
A New View: If you struggle with drugs & alcohol, you’re not alone. We’re a faith-based support group that will help you leave your past behind. We’re a community of people who have overcome past addictions & desire to share their stories, provide tools & offer hope & encouragement. If you’re looking for a new you, try A New View.

Men’s Group: Glancing at Life, Gazing at God: As we jump into our series “The Book of Titus” with Chip Ingram, we’ll learn how to let the gospel take root in our lives so that it can produce the fruit of godliness within us. As we allow this to happen & then pass it along to others, the Church will stand in bright contrast to the darkness of the world. Who better to be the example for our culture than men?
This group is led by Rod Mohr at SCC on Sundays @ 6:30pm.
Senior High: When we talk about following Jesus by Loving God, Loving Others & Serving the World, high school students can do those things like no one else! We invite all students in 9th-12th grade to hang out with us at Senior Highhere at SCC on Sundays @ 6:30pm.
