Small groups are committed to creating a conversational environment where people can explore faith, build friendships, have fun and ‘be missional’ (love God, love one another and serve the world) as well as providing a network of support and care.

Small group sessions are typically either 8 or 12 weeks long (February-April / June-July  / September-November).

Small group sign-up months are typically January, May, and August.

Small groups are made up of various types of people in different seasons of life. Small groups range in size from 12-20 people and meet together weekly and/or bi-weekly to challenge, help and prayerfully encourage one another.

We believe that every attender and member should be connected to others in and through the small group ministry. Please stop by the Connections Bar to find out more about small groups.

Sunday groups

Billy Graham Evangelism Training: Imagine for a moment, a firefighter who neglects to save a victim, merely because of fear. Or worse, what if they just didn’t care. What if we choose, by doing nothing, to allow sinners to walk blindly into eternity, separated from the presence of the Lord? This is an online study that we will do together, with lessons from Billy Graham, Will Graham and other evangelists. You will receive a certificate upon completion.  - EVERY OTHER SUNDAY during second service at SCC.

Authentic Manhood: This series is for all men; married, single, kids or no kids. You will be diving into a man and his work, a man and his marriage and a man and his fatherhood. - Held at SCC on Sundays at 6:00pm

The Bridge to Racial Unity: Do you have a heart to help heal racial division in our country? Do you know where to start? Have you ever wondered what the Bible says about racial reconciliation? If so, this is the group for you! Please join us in these hard, but very important, discussions. 2295 E. Wrenbriar Lane, Shelbyville, Sundays at 6:30pm

Follow, by Andley Stanley: In this 8 session viseo based study, Andy Stanley shows you that Jesus' invitation to His first century audience was really an invitation to a relationship. And it began with a simple request... Follow Me. When that study is done, we will dive into the Book of Ruth.  Walker Place, 2216 N. Riley Highway, Shelbyville, Mondays at 6pm - STARTS ON MARCH 5TH

Raw Faith, by Kasey Van Norman: We all long for victory.. Over fear, over guilt, over bondage. This womans study distills the singular truth since time began; while change and uncertainty are inevitable, God is always unchanging and always faithful, even when we are tempted to believe otherwise. (Raw Faith and 40 Days of Prayer are one small group.) Held at SCC, Tuesdays at 6:30pm

40 Days of Prayer, by Rick Warren: Breakthroughs happen when we seek them. We have the ability to seek them through prayer, through talking with our Heavenly Father. Grace and Favor: A life changing group that looks at how and why Jesus loves us. We so often think God looks at us the way we look at ourselves, but He doesn’t. Come and discover how much, and why, God's love for you is far more powerful than you believe.  Held at SCC, Tuesdays at 6:30

Prayer 101 /Simple Prayers: This group is designed specifically for people who have never been part of a prayer group before. It will involve discussion, and prayer. You will not have to pray out loud! We will share prayer requests, and keep a journal. Held at SCC, Tuesdays at 6:30pm.

Colossians 2.7, 2nd course: Part 2 of the Colossians 2.7 series is designed to help you develop a deeper relationship with God, a desire and method to memorize Scripture passages, a tool for sharing the gospel and a cohesive, useful faith story, and the ability to spend extended times with God. Penn St., Shelbyville, Wednesdays at 6:30pm.

It Starts at Home: The home is the primary context of our spiritual formation - for better or worse. God wired us for flesh and blood relationships with a mom, a dad, a spouse, a child and others who profoundly shape our perception and experience of the Faith, whether intentional or not. This series is an invitation for you to become intentional about fulfilling your God-ordained role at home, and in the process, giving your family something better than you might have received. Online Study, Wednesdays at 7pm

Free, by Andley Stanley: Here are 2 Bible verses everone can relate to: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, I do... For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out" Romans 7: 15, 18 {NIV}. Can I get an 'Amen'? Maybe a 'Been there done that'? So what do you do when you cant seem to do what you know you ought to do?
