Mission

Shelbyville Community Church offers great student ministries for middle school and high school students. SCC strives to create a safe, fun, and effective ministry where students can connect with each other and most importantly with God.

Our goal is to introduce students to the person and to the power of Jesus, and to help them live their lives in response to Him.  Our hope is that students would be set on a life long journey of loving Jesus, loving people, and serving the world.

You can sign up for all of our events at www.shelbychurch.org/register.

Middle School Students Rock!

We have a team of adults and high school students who think that middle school kids are the coolest kids on earth!  Our team loves to spend time with middle schoolers, laugh, create new adventures, and point them to Jesus every chance we can.  Here are just a few of the things your middle school student can get involved in.

the Middle calendar

Check out all that is going on this year at the Middle!  You can click on the calendar and print it out, or pick one up in the church lobby anytime you'd like.

Wednesday Nights @ SCC

Every Wednesday night we get together with our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, and our amazing team of leaders for youth group.  It's honestly the highlight of the week for dozens of students.  Youth group is 6:30-8:30 pm, dress is "get rowdy casual", and we do things like huge gym games, discussion based lessons on the Bible, and small groups every week.  Small groups are the focus of the night, and it's a time for students to be known, loved, and learn how to love others around them.  If you'd like to come and set in on a youth group with your student, you are always welcome to hang out for the night and check it out.

On Sunday mornings, we offer a chance for middle school students to get together during the 11 am service.  We meet in room 109 during the second service.

Each time we meet, we'll play some games, have a lesson, and spend time laughing together.  We'd love to have you come check it out!  You can see the trailer for the series (King David) we are studying right now.

We do not meet on Communion Sundays or Baptism Sundays, so the students can take part in the main service with their families in the Auditorium.

High school students are amazing!

When we talk about following Jesus by Loving God, Loving Others, and Serving the World, high school students can do those things like no one else!  Check out all the ways we work as a team to help that happen, and let us know what you think.

Check out our upcoming schedule.

These are available in the church lobby in a printed form as well.

Sr High Fall Party 2017.jpg

All Senior High students and their friends are invited to our annual Fall Party!  It's a ton of fun, with games, hayrides, Jill's famous potato soup, Jason's less than famous hot dogs, a bonfire and a great group of students and leaders.  If you want to bring something, girls can bring a dessert and guys can bring a drink, but it's not required at all.
Don't miss it!

Small Group Night No Logo.jpg

Several times throughout the school year, we will have Small Group Nights.  In Sr High, all of our students have a small group they meet in every week with a pair of adult leaders.  They are grouped by grade (9th grade guys, 11th and 12th grade girls, etc.)  On Small Group Nights, the groups have the freedom to pick whatever they want to do for the evening, and go spend the time together.  It could be a service project, go kart racing, a worship night, a ball game in Indy, or a ton of other options.  On these nights, there is no youth group at the church for that week for Sr High.

Student Takeover TV.jpg

Student Takeover nights are some of our favorites!  On these nights, one of the small groups gets the chance to own the night.  They plan the games, do all of the announcements, design creative ways to teach the lessons; the students do it all!  We are always amazed at how creative they can be, and believe that God uses them in unbelievable ways as they give Him access to all of their talents and abilities.
